On Friday 27th September, 126 Romney ewe lambs have arrived, and are here over the winter to keep the grass down, which will help the wild flowers next spring. The Hay bales should be removed soon! Please keep your dogs under control, if you are walking through a field with the sheep near by.

We are very sorry to confirm that Bill Wade passed away on 4th July 2024.
Bill purchased Bottom Barn Farm in 1964, and started off rearing pigs, before moving on to cattle, having a suckler beef herd and producing crops such as wheat, barley, oats, beans and oilseed rape. Over the last 20 years he converted the farm buildings to offices and replaced the arable crops with species rich grassland to promote wildflowers and butterflies enhancing the wildlife and environment. Bill was a hard working, kind and supportive person, who will be missed. He has made the valley into the wonderful place we all enjoy today, and it is a true legacy to such a great gentleman. We will endeavour to honour his memory and will carry on running the farm and the business units in the same way. His funeral is being held on Friday 2nd August at 3pm at Bluebell Cemetery, Halstead, and the wake is being held at the Farmhouse afterwards. Thank you for your support and understanding during this difficult time. RIP Billy Have you seen the ducks making a home on the pond? It’s been some good weather for them recently!3/17/2024 |
